WaDF works in partnership with community groups,  philanthropic individuals, social institutions, religious sectors, private sectors, national NGOs and international funding agencies.

WaDF has signed project agreement with Portable Practical Education Preparation(PPEP)-http://www.ppep.org and CEDES for financial and technical assistanc on environmental protection and microfinance.

The Foundation has also signed Memorandum of Understanding with Southern Ethiopia People Development Association ( SEPDA)  for collaboration on community development endeavores(http://www.sepdasnnp.org/) and with Hawassa Municipality on establishment of Botanical garden and other urbn development endeavores.

Ethiopian New Year Celebration Successful at Yirgalem

To mark the Ethiopian New Year-Enqutatash and to show sympathy to disadvantaged children , Woldeamanuel Dubale Foundation (WaDF) arranged a special ceremony, during t the eve on 10 September 2012 , to orphans and street children at Yirgalem. The ceremony was organized in collaboration with Yirgalem City Women, Children and Youth office and attended by 230 people of whom 150 were OVC, 70 were disadvantaged people and 30 were invited guests and others.

W/o Abebech Kekebo, Deputy head of Yirgalem Women, Youth and Children Office, said that we have to join hands to avert the deep rooted socio-economic problems among children. Brief progress report of WaDF was presented by Ato Tesfaye Teshome, Program coordinator, and the way forward was notified, by the General manager of WaDF,Ato Melesse Woldemanauel, to the participants via Skype. The participants also made crucial panel discussion both at the podium and online.

The vice chairperson of WaDF,Ato Yohannis Biliso urged the members of the community and the government line departments to maximize their efforts in supporting WaDF through its development endeavors. The General manager also pledged to make whatever possible from the side of WaDF while genuine collaborative efforts are expected from government line departments and other development actors. At the end, the beneficiaries were invited a lunch and provided with snacks in order to revive their hope and to show the commitment of WaDF in addressing the problems of women and children.

Currently, the Foundation is making great efforts to support women and children on a sustainable basis through provision of educational materials, micro-financing, income generation scheme and arrangement of scholarships. Enkutatash or Ethiopian New Year is celebrated on September 11th according to the Western or Gregorian calendar. This time it is year 2005 for Ethiopians and Meskerem is seen as a month of transition from the old year to the new. It is a time to express hopes and dreams for the future.
